In Delhi NCR – SEZ Spaces can be explored in Gurgaon and Noida largely. Unfortunately, there is no Land parcel that has been allowed in Delhi for SEZs utilisation. Developers like DLF, Brookfield and other Major Players like Capital Land, ASF also hold SEZ office spaces in Gurgaon & Noida.

What is SEZ ?

A special economic zone (SEZ) is an area in which the business and trade laws are different from the rest of the country. Their aim is to create employment, manage trade balance, increase export, boost the infrastructure developement, increase manufacturing sector and providing tax benifits for the organisations. It also aims to promote FDI in India and work towards the growth of GDP as a final achievement.

What is IT / ITES SEZ ?

There are broadly three categoires of SEZs 1. Sector Specific 2. Multi Product and 3. SEZ in a port or airport for free trade and warehousing.

IT/ITES SEZ is a sector specific SEZ, wherin only IT / ITES companies can enter and operate. This can be refeered with a small illustration - Eg. - Their is a company who has multiple IT services backgorund and offer different servies or third party IT services. And they wish to offer their services from India to any other country, lets say US, UK, or any other country, they would hire workforce in India and would get the work delivered from here for those companies. Now in this case the revenue is generated from the contracted country. In a normal case scenario, their would be lot of tax implications but if the company registers themselves in SEZ and would want to operate from the same place, they would have the advantage of tax benifits and other benifits as per the SEZ policies placed by the government.
